Hey you! Yes you reading this very newsletter sent by yours truly. Here are some Intermediate guitar tips & tricks I’ve done myself all throughout my guitar journey!

1. If you’re struggling with barre chords. Tune you’re guitar down half a step, then slap a capo on the first fret. Now you should be in standard tuning, and barre chords should feel so much easier! Since there is a lot of tension already being made on the neck by the capo.

2. Use the meaty part of your finger for barre chords, don’t press straight on your finger. And make sure the tip of your finger is over the fretboard. So you use all of your strength from your index finger.

3. When barring, press on the back of the neck with your thumb as HARD AS YOU CAN! This will drive a lot of tension towards your fingers making the sound more clear.

4. Tuck your elbow out towards the front of the guitar. As opposed to tucking it in towards your body. This will create more strength in your fretting hand.

5. I don’t think anyone says this as much as they should say it. But guys, you’re playing barre chords. And barre chords are not easy. So please, press down HARD! Technique is everything yes. If you have good technique, it will sound great will little pressure. But if you have great technique + actually pressing down hard. There will be no buzz at all!
